Chicken Cacciatore

1 1/2 pounds chicken, cut into 1/2” strips
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 can tomato sauce
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Hot cooked rice

In a skillet, cook chicken, onion, and bell pepper in oil until chicken is lightly browned and veggies are tender.  Add tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, and seasonings; bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.  Serve over rice.
