Beef and Bacon Superchili

1/2 pound bacon, chopped
1 pound hamburger
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 can pinto beans, drained & rinsed
1 cup picante sauce
1 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt

Cook bacon until crisp.  Remove to paper towels.  Pour off all but 1 Tbsp drippings.  In drippings, brown hamburger with onion and green pepper.  Drain fat.  Add tomatoes, bacon, beans, picante sauce, chili powder, cumin, and salt.  Simmer for 30 minutes.
